WITH EACH Poodle sold, the breeder shall (unless said sale is covered by Paragraph 5 above), furnish a signed registration application or transfer or promissory note of forthcoming registration, which promissory note shall include full particulars on the dam and sire, their registration numbers, the date of birth of the litter and a brief description of the puppy being sold. The breeder shall also furnish to the purchaser a pedigree of at least (3) generations.

7. THE BREEDER should also give to the purchaser written instructions regarding the care of the dog; feeding, health needs and history, grooming requirements, and information, training tips and the dates and types of immunization already administered as well as those still required. It is recommended that all puppies offered for sale should have had a health check up, active and passive immunization against Distemper-Hepatitis-Parainfluenza-Parvo, and a negative microscopic fecal examination. Before being released to the purchaser the puppy or dog shall be freshly and correctly groomed. The purchaser shall be advised to place the newly acquired animal under veterinary supervision as soon as possible, but definitely within the week of purchase.

8. Such arrangements shall be made ONLY when the animal in question is of such quality as to be considered top breeding stock. Such breeding arrangements shall not have as their purpose monetary gain and should not in any way be a means of encouraging the pet buyer to breed its poodle or of supplying the original breeder-seller with a supply of salable puppies.

9. ANY MEMBER or prospective member with a particular problem-breed, health, grooming, training, etc. – shall be encouraged to seek the advice and counsel of more experienced breeders. Experienced breeders shall be expected to give advice and help in all possible ways to other members as well as to the general public who may seek such aid.

Club members should also stand ready to assist fellow members when emergencies arise which may require the placing or housing of their show and/or breeding stock on a temporary basis. Members who can supply such quarters should be willing to do so.

12. THE COMMERCIAL breeding of Poodles as a sales item is to be deplored and discouraged because the maintenance and improvement of quality ceases to be the goal of each mating; therefore Poodles are not to be sold to or placed with a dealer or a pet shop. No person who places or accepts dogs for sale or breeding in a pet shop shall be or become a member of the SAN DIEGO POODLE CLUB, INC. No person who has in any way questionable interest in the breed may become or remain a member of the SAN DIEGO POODLE CLUB, INC.

13. ANY JUST complaint shall be brought to the attention of the Club’s Grievance Committee in the proper manner as specified in the Constitution and by-laws; otherwise the complaint shall be deemed to lack merit and shall be disregarded.
